Higher National Diploma in Business Management or Business Finance

Course Description

 
The Higher National Diploma in Business Studies offers students on the Btec framework an introduction into business topics. At this level of the BTEC framework the programme is progressive with students improving their skills in order to specialise in particular business areas by the second year of the programme. The programme is assessed by individual and group assignments, presentations and projects.

How do I know if I am eligible for the course?

This course should be aimed at students who have completed their school education. Students must want to improve their knowledge of business principles and topics to that of a graduate level. Students must be 18 or over or have completed the equivalent of 1 A level or 5 GCSE’s, other qualifications and experience will be considered at the discretion of the college.

What Will I Learn?

Students will be expected to grasp and hone their education with their own research in a variety of topics that become a lot more specific in the second year of study. Students will also be able to specialise in year two and choose either a management or a finance pathway. Assessments will include individual and group assignments and projects and are created with real life examples and topics in mind.

Progression Opportunities

After completion of the Higher National Diploma students are eligible for entry onto the final year of the Birmingham City University Ba (Hons) degree in Business Studies where they will improve on the knowledge they have gained during this course, and progress up the business pathway onto graduate level, and upon completion receive a full Ba Hons degree.
