Study Options

You can study this course in the day or in the evening.  Set out below is more detail on how it is delivered:

Day

The course will take 3 weeks to complete.  The course is based on 1 day per week attendance.  Classes start at 10am each day and finish at 3pm with 30 minutes for lunch.  

Evening

The course will take 2 weeks to complete.  The course is based on 2 evenings attendance per week.  Classes start at 6pm each evening and finish at 8.30pm.  

About the course

The Award in Accounting is an accredited course and is ideal if you are interested in working in an office/ finance environment or just want a better understanding of finance and accounting for self-employment purposes and would make a great addition to your CV.

The course is suitable for all learners new to accountancy or those wishing to refresh their skills and is aimed at people looking to return to work, change careers or have been in an accounting role but without any formal qualifications.

The course will help you develop essential business and finance skills such as using numbers in business, creating business documents, understanding banking procedures, methods of communicating financial information and identifying different roles and responsibilities when working in an accounting/ finance office environment.

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

Progression to Level 1 Access Award in Bookkeeping and Level 1 Certificate in Computerised Payroll for Business.

How will I be assessed?

This subject is continually assessed through the completion of a Portfolio.

Entry requirements?

You must be qualified at Entry Level 3 or above in English and maths.
