Classroom learning

Duration

In the classroom the course will take 16 days to complete including taking the exam.  This is based on 5 days attendance per week. 

About the course

If you are interested in working in a security/ stewarding role at festivals, sports stadiums, concerts and other events, then this is the course for you!

Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to apply for an SIA Licence, valued at £210, at no cost to you!

During this course you will study:

  • Highfield Level 1 Employability Skills, including Help with Applying for Jobs;

  • Functional Skills English;

  • Functional Skills Maths; and,

  • Highfield Level 2 Award in Stewarding in Spectator Events

  • Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry​

​There is also an option for you to study the Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry.

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to apply for an SIA Licence, valued at £210, at no cost to you!

How will I be assessed?

Examination: There will be one examination date in respect of English and Mathematics and another in respect of the Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry.

 

Portfolio of Evidence: Employability and Stewarding will be assessed by way of a Portfolio of Evidence.
