Duration
In the classroom the course will take 2.5 days to complete including taking the exam. This is based on 2.5 days attendance per week. Classes start at 10am each day and finish at 4pm with 30 minutes for lunch. Studying this course online will take approximately 2 weeks.
About the course
This course is delivered by our colleagues at The Finance and Management Business School.
Functional Skills in English at Entry Level 3 is accredited by Pearson and is an ideal starting point if you have basic literacy skills and want to raise these skills.
You will learn how to write clear and concise sentences and use punctuation appropriately.
The aim of the course is to develop valuable skills that you can use in everyday life, as well as in the workplace.
During this course you will study the basics of the English Language to improve your speaking and listening skills, reading and writing skills, specifically you study three modules including:

Speaking and Listening;

Reading; and,

Writing
What will I be able to do after completing the course?
Progress to Functional Skills in English at Level 1, as well as undertaking a number of occupationally relevant qualifications.
How will I be assessed?
Examination: There will be one examination date in respect of English Reading and English Writing. Additionally your tutor will arrange an assessment, which will be recorded, as part of English Speaking and Listening.
Entry requirements?
None, although there is an entry test to assess the most appropriate level.
