In the classroom the course will take 10 days to complete including taking the exam.  This is based on 5 days attendance per week.  Classes start at 9am each day and finish at 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch.  Studying this Pathway online will take approximately 6 weeks.

About the course

 If you are interested in working in a security/ stewarding role at festivals, sports stadiums, concerts and other events, then this is the course for you!

Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to apply for an SIA Licence, valued at £190, at no cost to you!

​During this course you will study:

​​

  • Highfield Level 1 Employability Skills, including Help with Applying for Jobs;

  • Functional Skills English;

  • Functional Skills Maths;

  • Highfield Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding in Spectator Events; and,

  • Highfield Level 2 Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry (this learning aim is run by our colleagues at Employer Training Solutions)

What will I be able to do after completing the course?

How will I be assessed?

Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry is assessed through examinations and observation from your tutor.

 Employability and Stewarding will be assessed by way of a Portfolio of Evidence. 

English Reading and Writing will be assessed by way of Portfolio of Evidence. Additionally your tutor will arrange an assessment which will be recorded for the speaking and listening aims.
